At the age of 14, Beto Araujo got his first guitar. The texture, the shape, the sound, the smell of the varnished wood provoked inexplicable sensations that he still remembers today. He began to study music and the respect and love for the instruments grew every day.

Curious, he started to do the maintenance and repairs of his own guitars. He studied with Régis Bonilha and Márcio Benedetti, at B&H Luhtieria, where he learned the techniques of building acoustic and solid instruments.

He worked for five years at the Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas, where he approached woodworking specialists and was able to deepen his knowledge of Brazilian woodwinds for instruments and their unique timbres. In 2013 he set up his own workshop and since then he has built and restored more than 60 acoustic instruments including guitars, violas, ukuleles and mandolins, in addition to countless maintenance.

He owns Flutter Guitars, a company that proposes to build dreams with their hands. Due to such similar purposes, his path found that of Eco Guitar, where he is now an instructor of the acoustic construction course.

Hi, I'm Pedro Henrique, founder of Eco Guitar. Eco Guitar was born thinking about how to transform, in a sustainable way, Brazilian woods into musical instruments.

The brand's history began in 2014 when I decided to combine my love for guitars, my experience in the advertising audio business and a sustainable proposal.

The luthieria carries in its name what moves it: the raw material of the instruments comes from the streets or from reforested wood and are transformed into guitars and basses with unique characteristics and singular timbres.

The Eco Guitar differential permeates all stages of production: the choice of boards, the treatment given to the pieces, the electrical installation, painting, finishing and adjustment. The result is unique. Down with the dictatorship of equal guitars!

After all, you've always dreamed of this possibility, haven't you?

Build your own guitar: shaping the neck by hand, tupiing the body cavities, giving that impeccable finish and still unraveling the details of this instrument we are simply passionate about. Because Eco wants to see your dream come true!

We offer courses for beginners in the world of tuning, maintaining and building musical instruments. There are 5 encounters (with an option of 6) where you will build a solid or semi solid body from scratch. Starting with the design of the instrument on the woods, going through the router and the shape, and also gluing, soldering, installing the frets and adjustment.

What if I don't feel confident at some stage in the process?

No problems. We understand that some parts of the build can be intimidating on the first try. But one of the goals of the course is precisely to offer the necessary support for the first steps and put you on the front line of building your instrument. Guidelines and tips are part of the course, but don't be afraid to go further and expose any questions that arise. Your instrument will thank you. :)
